He missed out on the opportunity to score for Aberdeen, but on Saturday Ryan Fraser popped up for his first goal in senior football when he managed to poke home a delightful through ball from Tokelo Rantie.
Despite being on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, Fraser is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "The goal takes a lot of pressure off me because I didn’t score for Aberdeen and when I began playing here, I started thinking ‘Will it ever come?’ I would have loved the right result over a goal because I would take a win over a goal any day. We didn’t get the result we wanted but it was nice to get a goal. I played 24 games at Aberdeen. I got opportunities but could never score, although I did supply assists. I have got a couple of assists here so far and to get the goal on Saturday was an unbelievable feeling. I was surprised how I got away from the defenders. They were both in front of me but I ran through after Tokelo had played a great ball. I just tapped it with my toe, past the goalkeeper, and I didn’t think it was going to get there. I thought, knowing my luck, it was going to stop on the line!"
