Fruity For Francis

With the Cherries and Tangerines up against each other at the weekend, the match pits one of the leakier defences against one of the meaner defences in the opening few matches of the new League season.

Right back, Simon Francis, is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying about the challenge ahead: "I am really excited about it and I am sure all the lads, the club and the fans are as well. I hope it will be an entertaining game. Blackpool have been really impressive this season under Paul Ince and they have played some good football and haven’t conceded many goals. It will be tough for us to break them down and that is the kind of work we have been doing in training because they will be a solid, well organised team. It is our job, especially at home, to try to push them back and create goals".
