Gillingham Reaction

Speaking on BBC Radio Solent after the match, Sean O'Driscoll was quoted as saying: "We've played well in the past and not always got what we deserved, but we plugged away. We stuck to our task as we thought we'd get chances to win, although we'd rather not leave it so late. I'd have settled for a point before the game to be honest, as Gillingham are difficult to beat and are on the crest of a wave - but we didn't panic. Credit to the North Stand, as they got behind us when it would have been easier to get on the players' backs, and they responded. It does make a difference when we attack that end as when we have a few close shaves the crowd get going, and you can see that affects the players".

The Gills boss, Ronnie Jepson, was understandably gutted with his sides defeat at Dean Court. He was quoted after the match, on BBCi, as saying: "We didn't deserve to lose that game. We dominated it. They didn't get into our box until they scored, and at the end we knocked an infield ball and they were straight back on us and got the goal. We also had a blatant penalty turned down, so I'm disappointed not to get all three points, let alone a point. The lads showed a lot more conviction away from home, and I was pleased with a lot of the aspects of our play. When you're away from home, towards the end you get a bit nervous, but the decision-making in those situations has to be better from individual players".
