Gillingham Reaction - Cherries

For the Cherries, Kevin Bond, relieved at claiming League One survival, was quoted after the match as saying: "We gave away a poor goal and were chasing the game but James Hayter got us a terrific goal. We did what we needed to do over the past six to eight weeks - that's kept us safe, which is a good achievement. When I first came we were in the cart, and then after six weeks we were really in the cart - so we've done well. Since New Year, our home form has been good, we've been more than a match for most of the teams here and that's what's given me something to cling on to. What we haven't had, in all fairness, is consistency. Maybe we need to be more resilient away from home, and not too gung-ho. Having said that, we've won away three times since I've been here, and I've been at clubs and gone all season without a win".
