Gillingham Reaction - Cherries

Manager Kevin Bond is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Brett Pitman probably took a little bit of belief from the fact that he's playing in place of Lee Bradbury at this moment in time, who has been a top-class player. The fact that the manager and the coaching staff have put their belief in him hopefully has given him a bit of a boost. He had three or four opportunities and took one of them, but if he can keep banging the goals in, that's what we all want".

He went on to say: "We were at home and we needed to be in their faces and get after them a little bit, so we changed it, which made us a little more vulnerable at the back, I thought. It gave them a little bit of a edge to their game going forward. But thankfully we did get our noses in front so we kept playing the same way and we should have had a couple more".
