The Gills manager, Mark Stimpson, was quoted after tha match as saying: "I thought Simeon and Mark McCammon linked up superbly today and, if anything, Mark looked stronger as the game went on. Simeon was unlucky today but if he can do that all season he'll score a lot of goals at this level. With Gary Mulligan being more of a finisher than Adam Miller I thought he might just be in the right place at the right time. It was a good pull back from Tyrone Berry and a fantastic finish from Gary. He's been carrying an injury lately and that will do him the power of good. The amount of supporters we had here today was absolutely phenomenal. They deserved something to cheer about because they backed us throughout the game and it was great to see the players run over and celebrate with them when the goal went in".
