Goslings Fresh Start

Hasving missed out at Newcastle United, the Cherries new signing Dan Gosling is relishing his opportunity to star in Dorset.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Gosling is quoted as saying: "I really enjoyed my time at Newcastle but every footballer wants to play and unfortunately I didn’t play as much as I would have liked. The players they recruited were top-class internationals like Yohan Cabaye (now at Paris Saint-Germain) and Cheick Tiote and it was hard to get them out of the team. I don’t think I had the fairest of chances but that’s football, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It was a place that I really enjoyed but the football side was not what I had hoped for. Every player knows it’s hard to switch it on and off and that probably sums up my time there. A few people behind the scenes probably thought differently about me and thought I could offer something, but it was one of those things and now I just move on. I know the Championship is a very difficult league having come down for three months on loan last season. The league is very competitive and there are big teams and big players, so it’s going to be a tough year both for me and the team".
