Gowling Update

Since intensive treatment at Lilleshall, Gowling has been making steady progress. So much so that he has been given the all clear to return to the squad next month.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Gowling is quoted as saying: "The people at Lilleshall said I was fine to do everything now. I've been there about six times and was due to go back next month but they said there wasn't really any need to. The muscle on my right thigh is 15 per cent down on my left thigh but I should get that back before pre-season. I'll go back to Lilleshall to have it checked and hopefully I should have got the 15 per cent back by then. The knee feels fine. I don't feel anything when I'm exercising, but it does ache a little afterwards. They worked me quite hard at Lilleshall and I was doing everything - twisting, turning and sprinting, so that was good. They said I might feel it for the first couple of months until my body gets used to exercising again. I haven't played for seven months and can't wait to get back into it. I'm really looking forward to it".

Gowling is hoping to be fit in time for the start of the new season, which starts on August 5th.
