Granty Moves On

Last updated : 21 January 2004 By Mike Robins
After nearly four years at Dean Court, first team coach, Peter Grant, has left Dean Court for Upton Park to team up with ex-boss Alan Pardew. It renews a team that was created while Grant was playing for Reading while Pardew was manager.

Even though Grant has a 1-year roll over contract at Dean Court, the Hammers are not compensating Bournemouth given their lack of money. Instead a pre-season friendly will be set up where by Bournemouth will keep all of the proceeds.

In moving, Grant is quoted as saying that "I cannot thank Bournemouth enough as all the money in the world couldn't have brought me everything I've learned at Dean Court".

Peter Grant replaces former assistant manager Paul Goodard who left Upton Park last week.
