Grassi Stay Extended

Having impressed Eddie Howe in recent friendly matches, Davide Grassi has earned himself an extended trial period at Dean Court, ahead of the new season.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "I don't know too much about his history but I know how he plays now. I think he's done well in the games. I think he looks more comfortable at centre-half than left-back but he's an out-and-out defender, good on the ball and is decent in the air as well. I'd like to run with a squad of 18-20 first-team players. I think I need to bring in a couple of players because we are a bit thin on the ground".

For his part, Grassi is quoted as saying: "I enjoyed the game on Saturday. I thought we played well as a team and I hope to stay here. I want to play here because I like English football and I want to step up a level. I like it here. I like the town, the stadium and the club. I hope to stay but it's up to the manager".
