Grimsby Town Reaction - Mariners

Manager Mike Newell was quoted in the Grimsby Telegraph as saying: "I know people were looking for back-to-back wins, the first home win and all the rest of it - but it is very hard to go from not winning a game to winning every one. We dropped too deep in the last 10 minutes. The deeper you become, the more pressure it invites. It is impossible to eradicate the nervousness we have in the last 10 minutes overnight. It is a gradual process. It is not all doom and gloom, but it is frustrating. The conditions were difficult and we didn't really take advantage of the wind we had behind us. Sometimes it is more difficult to play with the wind, and we did not really start to play our football until after half-an-hour. We were reasonably fortunate to go in at half-time 2-1 up, but you take that fortune and we really should have closed out the game after scoring the third".
