Grimsby Town Reaction - Mariners

Last updated : 22 March 2010 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator

Following their second win on the spin at home, in their bid to avoid the drop to the Conference, the Grimsby camp were upbeat after the 3-2 win over AFC Bournemouth, with the match winner, Chambers, being quoted after the match as saying: "I was really delighted to come on and score the winner, but more delighted for the lads. They played their hearts out for the 90 minutes and it was just nice to top it off with a goal and help the team along. The lads are buzzing. It's a massive result for us and it's two wins in a row at Blundell Park. We made a top three team look bang average today and that's the quality we possess in the dressing room at the minute. So hopefully we can move on and build on this. I'm a striker and I've got to bring goals to the table. I'm glad I could do that today but I've got to keep showing the manager things in training and that I'm capable of being put in there. It's a good way to let the fans know who you are. There's been a lot of frustration at not playing over the last few weeks but I'm delighted to have got the goal. It's been very frustrating. You start to question yourself and you just don't know if this is for you, but I've just stuck in there. I've had a lot of support from my friends and family, and I'm glad that I've stuck it out because it's obviously come to this. Hopefully I can play a big part and bring more goals to the table to get us out of this situation that we're in at the moment".
