Hartlepool Reaction

Cherries boss, Sean O'Driscoll was pleased with the performance, even though AFC Bournemouth went down to 2 late goals against Hartlepool United. He is quoted as saying that: "They took the lead, maybe against the run of play, but we went 2-1 up ...they threw caution to the wind late on but we looked dangerous on the break, even when we were under the cosh. All we can do is perform like we've performed, and take whatever result comes. We'll just get on with it".

Keeper Neil Moss was in no doubt as to his thoughts on referree Carl Boyeson being quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "I don't think I've calmed down. It was an even game, two good sides. I think Hartlepool are a really good side, particularly at home so all credit to them. But for the referee to give two decisions of that magnitude in injury time, we just can't really believe it. If it had been up the other end, there is no question, no way in the world that he would have given either of those decisions. A draw would have been a fair result but the referee has got involved and we have lost the game. He has blown up way before .... I think I would have saved the orginal shot .... he has given it for something that looked very marginal to me. You would be very surprised if he gave it on the 50th or 60th minute but to give it on 92 minutes, he has got to be 100% sure. There is absolutely no way that he can be 100% sure that that was a penalty or free kick."

For Hartlepool United, their manager, Neale Copper is quoted as saying: "It was great excitement at the end, and a vital win for us, as it's put us back in the top 10 .... you look at the table, we've got 29 points - and we've lost eight away. If we'd won a couple of those, we'd be right up there. There's a lot of good teams up there, but we've got to keep trying to get maximum points here until we can turn it round away from home".
