Hartlepool United Reaction

Speaking after the match, Sean O'Driscoll had this to say (source: BBCi) after the 2-2 draw which saw his side miss out on a play-off place: "I don't think Hartlepool were in it until they got their second goal .... then the crowd got frantic, the players got frantic and the game got a bit bitty - until then, we'd created opportunities and were the better side .... it's finished now - this club wallows in the past far too much. We've got to look ahead to next season".

Needless to say, the caretaker manager of Hartlepool United (Martin Scott) was far happier with his first game in charge. He was quoted after the match as saying: "There was pressure from start to finish as whether we were drawing or they were winning, one team was going to go through .... Bournemouth are an excellent team, but it shows how great it was a performance by us to score two away from home. It's been a difficult week for the club but I had belief in the players".
