Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, the Colchester United manager is quoted as saying: "They are a good side, they've been on a good run and I've got an enormous amount of respect for Sean and his team. I think the key for them was keeping James Hayter because of the 20 goals he could get them every season. And like we had last season, they have also got a lot of good young players who are going to improve so I would say they would be a good bet to be around the play-offs next season".

Drawing the comparison to between the two squads, Parkinson went on to say: "We've got a lot of youngsters and last season was important for them because they gained the experience of first-team football. We've also got good characters all through the club and people who are prepared to push themselves".
