Home Truths For Pitman

Manager Kevin Bond is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying after the Pompey pre-season friendly: "I thought he should have learned a bit about himself on Monday night. When you're a threat to Sol Campbell, you can be a threat. I thought he did really well. We've had a couple of conversations, just to spell out a few home truths with him. What he needs to do is take it on board and if he takes it on board, he's got half a chance".

Pitman himself is quoted as saying: "Last season I played out wide, which I don't mind, but my favourite position is up front and hopefully I've done enough to keep my place. I was pleased to score against Pompey but, more importantly, I was pleased with the team performance. Their whole 11 are top quality and it's good to test yourself against them and I think the lads enjoyed it. We got a little bit sloppy after half-time, which is disappointing, but on the whole I thought the lads did pretty well".
