Howe Is Like Monk

Manager Eddie Howe has been compared in a favourable light by Shaun MacDonad, to his former team mate, and now Swansea City boss, Garry Monk.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Macca is quoted as saying: "There are similarities. He (Monk) was my captain when I played at Swansea – although if I’ll see him I call him gaffer! Look at the season Swans have just had, the points they got and how they finished in the league. The gaffer at Bournemouth has won two promotions in three years since he came back, so that says it all. To be successful you have to work hard and you have to want to be a perfectionist. I can see that in both of them. You do 10 good things and then he (Howe) will see one bad thing and pull you up on it and tell you to do it right. That’s probably why we have had our success. I think every manager I have played for has been different and had their own style. I have worked with some other managers who have gone on to be successful with other teams and since he has come back he has become the king of Bournemouth. He has always got time for people and that’s a key factor in people liking him, while his record in management speaks for itself. Hopefully, he can be even more likeable next season when he is getting results in the Premier League."
