Howe On Cup Draw

Speaking after the draw had been announced, manager Eddie Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Everybody remembers the Blackburn game because it was a memorable night for our supporters. The win on penalties earned us a home tie with Cardiff which was almost as dramatic. We took the lead through James Hayter and he then forced the tie into extra-time. We again came back to level through Brian Stock, only to lose on penalties. Fine margins determine games and that tie could have gone either way. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then but we would love to reach the fourth round. This club has only done it twice and it would be another milestone if we could get there. It is going to be a tough task because Cardiff are a very good side. They have started the season well as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League and will be tough opponents. They lost in the final to Liverpool a couple of years ago and will fancy their chances of going on a good run in the League Cup.”
