Howe on Fraser and Allsop

Manager Eddie Howe was delighted with his recent captures for the Cherries squad as they look to push on after their FA Cup exit at the hands of Wigan Athletic.

Speaking about winger Ryan Fraser, Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Ryan is someone that we have watched for around a year now since he first broke into the Aberdeen team. We watched him when we were at Burnley and, from moving back, we continued to monitor his progress. He is someone that we have always liked. He has got obvious attributes - he is quick, he is direct and he is technically very good, so he is a player that really does fit our mould. He can also play both sides and, of course, he is young and very much a player that will develop and get better in the next few years. Hopefully, that fits with our philosophy of how we treat young players. I think it is an exciting signing for the club and, again, a statement of intent and ambition because there were a lot of clubs tracking him and wanting him. We are delighted that he chose to sign for us".

On goal keeper, Ryan Allsop, Howe went on to say that: "Ryan is a talented young goalkeeper and has got all the attributes. He is 6ft 3ins and a very good shot-stopper and kicker. I know Russell Slade and Leyton Orient were very disappointed to lose him, which says something about his potential. He is certainly one for the future but he is also good enough to play now so he will come into the mix immediately. We are delighted he chose us ahead of other clubs because he had several options on the table. I don't think the chance to sign him on a free transfer would have come up again and I think he represents very good value for the football club. We felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down so we took it".
