Howe On His Way Back

In a lengthy interview in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Eddie Howe talks about the recent operation he's had on a knee, similar to the kind of op Steve Fletcher under goes every now and again. Eddie is quoted as saying: "Fletch and I are in the same boat in that respect. We've had major operations in the past and we have to manage our knees in the right way. We are lucky to have a manager who lets us do that. But we know from time to time that we will get the odd problem - it comes with the territory, unfortunately ..... I haven't a clue what happened really. I played the Bristol City game and it was fine, but it was a bit sore in training the following week. I played at Gillingham on the Saturday, when perhaps I shouldn't have, and the knee swelled up a little bit after that game, so I knew there was a problem. I thought rest would sort it out and I did that for a few weeks. I came back and trained for a few days and then I got a problem with it again so we decided it was best to get it sorted out. On Monday I did some jogging, a bit of ball work and some sharp stuff and it felt okay. I will step that up now and I should be fit in the near future. Let's say sooner rather than later."
