Howe Wishes McQuoid Well

On the departure of Josh McQuoid, manager Eddie Howe was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Josh had been really important to us in recent weeks. He scored a lot of goals and had done ever so well. He was a popular member of the squad as well so is going to be sorely missed. It is a compliment and you only have to look at our scout list to see that a lot of people are coming to watch our players. That’s great because it means the team is playing well and the club is doing well and, ultimately, that’s what everyone wants. The danger with that, of course, is that people will try to take your players. It has happened twice this season and that’s the disappointing thing because we’re trying to build a successful team. We’re going to have to try to build another one but it’s not easy. It is hard to find players that are good enough to do the job that the previous ones have done. But that’s what we will endeavour to do. Whenever a player leaves, it opens a door for someone else, like it did for Josh when Brett left. Other players will get an opportunity, that’s the cycle and, hopefully, someone will come in and do well".
