Hull Reaction

Speaking on BBC Sport, O'Driscoll is quoted as saying that: "There was a lot of commitment and enthusiasm, but I was disappointed with the result. For the next 10 minutes after the (first) penalty, we played right into Hull's hands, but after that we controlled long parts of the game. It was difficult with 10 men, but the fitness of our players shone through - Hull were hanging on at the end."

Meanwhile, Hull boss, Peter Taylor, is quoted as saying "we had a little bit of luck with the first penalty - I would have been disappointed if it had been given at the other end. Bournemouth don't give the ball away cheaply, but we were edgy late on as we couldn't find that second goal."

Speaking about the debut of Nick Barmby, Taylor is quoted as saying "It was a difficult occasion for him but he proved his fitness, and I have no doubt he will make a lot of goals for us this season. He was first-class."
