I Still Have A Job To Do - Fletcher

Last updated : 09 January 2007 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
Having been dropped for Pitmand and Vokes over Christmas and New Year, Steve Fletcher is quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "If I didn't think I could still do a job, I wouldn't have signed a contract last summer. Sean (O'Driscoll) wouldn't have given me one and I wouldn't have expected one. As it is, I still believe I've got a lot to offer. I realise that what I've got to offer now is different from 10 years ago, but while I think I've got something to offer, I'll keep fighting for my place. It's hard to accept that I'm not playing because it hasn't happened too often in my career. People keep telling me it's going to happen eventually, but that doesn't make it any easier to accept. I've got to knuckle down, show a bit of character and show why I've played for Bournemouth for 14-and-a-half-seasons".
