Igoe - Believes In Passing Principles

Having had offers from other Clubs, Sammy Igoe signed for Cherries because: "It's fantastic down here. I've said to a few people I've wanted to play for Bournemouth for a while so I'm delighted to finally sign for the club. I've played against Bournemouth a number of times throughout my career and have always been impressed with the football and being of small stature player that's how I like to play. Seeing how each and every one of the lads wanted to play football that way was a major factor in deciding to join the club. When I won promotion with Bristol Rovers we just played football and a number of the teams didn't. Some of the teams lumped it, relied on set pieces for goals and were really physical and tough to beat. But we had the belief that if we passed the ball around we were good enough to make chances and score goals. I believe that's what we've got to do and everybody is looking forward to the challenge. We've got a good mix of youth and experience and I think every team needs that. The young lads will be extremely keen and raring to go and then there's the older lads who know the game inside out and can calm the younger heads in pressure situations".
