International Cherries

Off on international duty at the end of the month are:

  • Artur Boruc - who has been called up for Poland.
  • Harry Arter - who has been called up to play for the Republic of Ireland. His call up is an interesting one as it could mean that his international debuty could be up against team mate Boruc in their Euro qualifier against Poland.
  • Shaun MacDonald - called up for Wales.
  • Matt Ritchie - has been called up for Scotland - which raised a few eye brows. He qualifies for Scotland as his father was Scottish. On the Ritchie call up, Scotland manager, Gordon Strachan was quogted as saying "I have watched Bournemouth a lot and Matt has been integral to their success. They are a smashing side. Whenever we have seen Matt he has never failed. He likes to play the way we like to play and is a good passer of the ball with determination and willingness to learn so that is good for us. It is not a trial basis – if you don't play well in your first international it doesn't mean to say you don't get another game – it is nothing like that. It is a longer-term picture".
