With Cherries fans calling for the head of Paul Groves in recent weeks, one glimour of hope in the doom that has descended on Dean Court has been the emergence of Josh Carmichael, who was given his debut by Paul Groves who nurtured the youngster through the Cherries youth set up.
Speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site, Carmichael is quoted as saying and his chance in the first team: "For me, last week was great and I can’t ask for much more than to have started the last two games. It’s been a step up from playing in the youth team, but I think I can deal with it and I think I’ve done ok. I’ve been back from injury for just over a month, so to be involved with the first-team so soon came as a bit of surprise but it’s good for me. I trained with the first-team the week before the Walsall game but I didn’t even expect to be on the bench. I thought I would be lucky to stay in the squad for the game at Crawley, so it was great to start. It’s been a tough week and I feel tired but happy. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season now, and hopefully I can stay around the first-team and see what happens".
