Following a period out due to a persistent back injury, leading to surgery, Shwan Jalal is back on his feet, and back in training again.
On his comeback, Jalal is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "I was never goin
g to be in contention for Saturday but I was pleased to get through the warm up. Before the operation I used to struggle to get through it and the fans were probably used to seeing me feeling my back towards the end. To get through it without any twinges or pains was fantastic. I can feel the difference and some people are even saying that I'm just standing up straighter. I feel like I'm moving more freely and I'm not having to compensate for the back injury. Hopefully with a couple more weeks of training I can be declared fit enough to be back in the squad. I feel great at the moment and I've taken the first steps back to being myself really. When you're injured it's a lonely place but I'm happy to be back amongst the lads, thankfully the surgery went well and there have been no problems since".
