The first half came and went with few chances. Saints looked slightly the more organised side in the opening 45 minutes, but Jalal was not tested in any shape, manner or form.

The Cherries squandered a few chances, most notably when Brett Pitman missed opportunities.

The second half saw the usual array of subsitutions, including the introduction of Karl Broadhurst at the centre of the Cherries defence. But it was the Cherries who fell behind when Matt Patterson fired the Saints ahead with a long range strike. A second for the visitors was a whisker away when they struck the outside of the left hand up right moments later.

On 56 minutes Liam Feeney levelled the scores following a sweeping move, then 3 minutes later, the Saints keeper fluffed what should have been an easy ball to deal with allowing Igoe to loop the ball back over his head for what proved to be the winner.

With further changes to both squads, with the Cherries finishing with a very youthful side, the Saints simply couldn't find a way through to find an equaliser.

AFCB: Jalal, Garry, Pryce, Davide, Feeney, Igoe, Hollands, Goulding, Robinson, Partington, Pitman
