July 20 Woking 2-1 AFC Bournemouth

Last updated : 22 July 2013 By Andy Burton

The match started blightly enough for the Cherries as ex-Woking loanee, Jayden Stockley, put the Cherries ahead in the first few minutes after a sweeping move down the right hand side involving the lively McDermott.

Sadly that was as good as it got! Within minutes Woking were level when a mix-up between Matthews and Jalal allowed Rickets to round the keeper for McCallum to equalise in to an empty net - it couldn't have been easier for our hosts to be honest!

The Cherries had the lions share of possession, but failed to put the Woking rear-guard under a great deal of pressure inspite of the hard work and endeavours.

Despite his early error, Matthews worked his socks off to make amends. McDermott and Fogden need to be mentioned for their industry throughout.

The game was wrapped up in the final few minutes when a low drive from Taylor beat Jalal in the 85th minute to seal a pre-season win for our hosts.

In all, it was a useful workout for the lads, even if the result wasn't in our favour.
