Keep Going Fletch!

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Richardson is quoted as saying: "He's outstanding and if he'd weighed in with a few more goals over his career, I don't think Bournemouth would have had him for that length of time because I think he would have gone on to a higher level. He's as good a target man as there is in the lower leagues and still is. That's why I got him here and we were very sorry to lose him. I don't see why he can't go on until he's 55. He's fit and his game's not about running, it's about being up there and being a target. I think he can keep going on and on".

He went on to say: "I'd be delighted if Bournemouth can stay up and I think they've got a chance. I don't think it's out of the question and they've just got to keep believing. I honestly believe they can stay up. I think they're as good a team as we've played for a long time. I think in the second half on Friday they showed a lot of fight and desire. They were probably unfortunate not to score, certainly with the penalty miss, but they've got to be not too down. They've got to be buoyed for the future because there are some good young players there. With the old fellow up front working as hard as he did on Friday, and the legs around him, and if they can keep the mood that's around at the moment, I think they've got a good chance".
