Last match for The Shakers?

Next Saturday, AFC Bournemouth travel to Gigg Lane, Bury, in the knowledge that it could be the last game played at the ground.

Bury are due in Court on March 4th with creditors demanding repayment of £1 million in mortgage arrears. The feeling in Bury is that the 117-year old Club are doomed, but that isn't stopping the Club with a 'Save The Shakers' appeal. They are already borrowing money from the PFA so the players can be paid and need £250,000 in the final weeks of the season just to pay wages, as well as needed a further £200,000 to see through the Summer with no income to see them through - a story all too familiar to Cherries fans who had to live that nightmare a few years ago.

If Bury do go out of business all points gained off Bury will be removed from each Clubs record for the current season. This will mean that the 3-2 win over the Shakers on September 15 will be wiped from the record. For our rivals in the relegation zone, Wrexham will have four points deducted, and Northmapton Town will only have a single point deducted as they drew 3-3 against Bury earlier in the season.

If Bournemouth win next Saturday, and Bury go out of business, all 6 points will be removed leaving the bottom of the table even tighter than it is today.
