Luton Town continued their push for Championship football with an emphatic 5-0 demolition of Bristol City at Kenilworth Road. Brkovic (10), Nicholls (26, pen), and Davis (45) wrapped up the points before the break, leaving Holmes (61) and Brvokiv (79) to put the icing on the cake in front of a jubilent 8330 fans, most of whom went home celebrating. Luton Town 1st, Bristol City 9th.

Hull City maintained the pressure at the top, and put a bit more distance on the chasing pack as they beat 3rd place Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park. Taylor fired Rovers in to a 7th minute lead, only to be pegges back just before the break as Ellison levelled in the 43rd minute. Pityful defending allowed Price (63) and Fagan (69) to take the points back to Humberside. Tranmere Rovers 4th, Hull City 2nd.

Sheffield Wednesday played Doncaster Rovers on Sunday afternoon and claimed a 2-0 home win over their Yorkshire neighbours. Bullen put the home side ahead just before the break, with Talbot securing the victory on 78 minutes. Sheffield Wednesday 3rd, Doncaster Rovers 11th,

Hartlepool United must have thought that 3 points against Wrexham was going to be relatively easy to acquire! Oh how wrong they were to be!! It started well for the home side as Strachan fired the home side in front in the 4th minute. The Ugarte stepped up to score in the 11th and 21st minutes to put the visitors ahead. Porter levelled in the 31st, before Ugarte ensured that Wrexham went in at the break 2-3 up as he completed a first half hat trick with a 35th minute penalty. Boyd draw Hatlepool level again in the 62nd minute only to see Ugarte score his 4th of the afternoon just 6 minutes later! Porter must have thought that he'd rescued a point when he levelled the scores at 4-4 in the 84th minute. But there was still time foor Jones to fire Wrexham ahead in the 86th minute leaving Ugarte to finish things off with his 5th of the afternoon in the 89th minute! Hartlepool United 5th, Wrexham 22nd.

AFC Bournemouth came away from Swindon's County Ground with their largest ever away win against the Wiltshire side as Wade Elliott (1), Jamie Hayter (56) and Matthew Mills (74) secured a 3-0 win. Swindon Town 8th, AFCB 6th.

Brentford secured a vital away win against Colchester United. Tabb scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute. Col U 18th, Brentford 7th.

Bradford City came out on top in the latest round of Yorkshire derbies against Huddersfield Town at Valley Parade. Cooke (44) and Windass (54) made sure that the majority of the 15417 went home happy. Bradford City 10th, Huddersfield Town 14th.

Barnsley have all but condemned Peterborough United to League Two football next season, winning 3-1 at London Road. Chopra converted a penalty in the 63rd minute to send them on their way, only to see Legg level 4 minutes later. Sadly for Peterborough Nardiello and Shuker each scored in the final few seconds to deny Barry Fry's side a point. Pterborough United 23rd, Barnsley 12th.

Torquay United needed to beat Chesterfield at Plainmoor, but could only manage a 2-2 draw. Akinfenwa put the home side in front on 20 minutes, with Niven levelling on 31. Hudson must have thought that the visitors were going to make the long journey home with all 3 points after he put them in front 5 minutes after the restart, only to see Phillips level for the home side in the 88th minute. Torquay United 21st, Chesterfield 13th.

Blackpool boosted their chance of League One survival with a 2-0 home win over Walsall. Murphy (57) and Southern (70) scored for the home side. This after both had been reduced to 10 men and both missing penalties!! Blackpool 16th, Walsall 15th.

Port Vale were the first side for months not to score a hat full of goals past Oldham Athletic as they in turn secured their win in ages and the first under new manager Ronnie Moore. The 3-0 win came through goals from Haining (27), and Cooper (52 & 54). Oldham Athletic 19th, Port Vale 17th.

Franchise FC are in danger of staying up after they beat bottom club Stockport County, 2-1, at the National Hockey Stadium. Lewington (34) and Edds (59) had already fired the home side in to a 2-0 lead, leaving Stockport a mere consolation for Briggs in the 74th minute. Franchise FC 20th, Stockport County 24th.
