Nottingham Forest maintained their top spot in League One with a Southall brace in the 32nd and 36th minutes away to stuggling Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road. Cheltenham Town 23rd, Nottingham Forest 1st.

Bristol City went back in to the automatic promotion places with a 1-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers at Ashton Gate. The only goal of the game came in the 37th minute through Carey. Bristol City 2nd, Doncaster Rovers 18th.

Scunthorpe United continue to comfound with an emphatic 3-1 over struggling Leyton Orient at Glanford Park. Sharp got his first of the afternoon in the 6th minute. This was cancelled out by an Easton equaliser in the 10th minute. Sparrow restored the lead in the 38th minute, with Sharp confirming the win with his second in the 57th minute. Scunthorpe United 3rd, Leyton Orient 24th.

Yeovil Town were made to work for their point against Chesterfield at Saltergate. O'Hare had put the home side ahead in the 50th minute, but Stewart had other ideas when scoring the equaliser in the 90th minute. Chesterfield 17th, Yeovil Town 4th.

A single goal victory for Tranmere Rovers, over AFC Bournemouth, lifted them back in to the play-off places. The only goal of the game came in the 41st minute through Ellison. Tranmere Rovers 5th, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

Northampton Town finally claimed their first home win of the season. at the 8th attempt, with a single goal win over Swansea City at Sixfields. Chambers scored the only goal in the 55th minute. Northampton Town 13th, Swansea City 6th.

Oldham Athletic showed no sympathy towards Brentford at Boundary Park, running out 3-0 winners against the London side. Warne got the scoring off the mark when he netted in the 15th minute. McDonald extended the lead in the 47th minute and Wellens made sure of the points in the 90th minute. Oldham Athletic 7th, Brentford 19th.

Carlisle United might have a great home record, but on the road, they struggle! This time they slipped up 2-0 at Priestfield against Gillingham. Bentley fired the Kent side ahead in the 8th minute, but the home side had to wait until the 89th minute for Mulligan to make sure of the points. Gillingham 14th, Carlisle United 8th.

Huddersfield Town slipped to an unexpected home defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion. Or may be to be more accurate a Robinson hat-trick which he netted in the 23rd, 30th and 50th minutes! Huddersfield Town 9th, Brighton & Hove Albion 15th.

Millwall and Port Vale fought out a 1-1 draw at the New Den. Zebroski put the Londoners ahead in the 20th minute, before Sodje levelled in the 72nd. Millwall 22nd, Port Vale 10th.

Blackpool gave Bradford City a lesson in how to finish as they ran out 4-1 winners at Bloomfield Road. Fox gave the home side the lead in the 39th minute, with Hoolahan extending the lead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time. Parker then netted a brace for the home side in the 64th and 70th minutes. Johnson's strike in the 84th minute for the visitors was no more than a consolation! Blackpool 12th, Bradford City 11th.

For the first time this season, Rotherham United climbed out of the relegation places. Their 4th home win of the season came at the expense of Crewe Alexandra at Millmoor as the home side ran out 5-1 winners! Clearly Crewe had not read the script as they took the lead in the 10th minute through Varney - but that's as good as it got for the visitors! Bopp levelled in the 32nd minute, Partridge put the home side ahead in the 41st and Williamson scored from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time. Hoskins extended the lead in the 65th minute while Partridge netted his second of the afternoon in the 74th minute, leaving Crewe to lick their wounds! Rotherham United 20th, Crewe Alexandra 16th.
