It's congratulations to AFC Bournemouth who were the first to claim automatic promotion to the Championship after a fine 3-1 win over Carlisle United at a packed Dean Court. Cook gave the Cherries the lead in the 25th minute, with Miller levelling 5 minutes after the re start. Arter restored the Cherries lead, with Pitman making sure that the Dorset side recorded a club record 8th straight win. The win ensures the step up, a division the Cherries last playing in in the 89/90 season when they were relegated. AFC Bournemouth 1st, Carlisle United 15th.
Doncaster Rovers go in to the final game of the season with it all to play for as they were undone my a rasping Labadie effort in the 14th minute to seal victory for Notts County at the Keepmoat. Doncaster Rovers 2nd, Notts County 11th.
Brentford also have it all to play for next weekend as they were held by Hartlepool United at Victoria Park. James gave the relegated Pool the lead in the 25th minute, with Trotta levelling in the 39th minute. Brentford and Doncaster Rovers meet for a winner takes all match next weekend to claim the 2nd automatic promotion place. Brentford 3rd, Hartlepool United 23rd.
Yeovil Town are looking good for 4th place in the table as they saw off Crewe Alexandra with a 1st minute strike from Edwards at Huish Park. Yeovil Town 4th, Crewe Alexandra 14th.
Swindon Town are now safely in the end of season play-off shake up as they managed to overcome Stevenage Borough at The County Ground. Goals from Flint (22nd & 73rd mins) and Roberts (53rd min) sealed the victory and a top-6 finish. Swindon Town 5th, Stevenage Borough 17th.
Completing the play-off quartet are Sheffield United who were thumped 3-0 by a resurrgent Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Goals from Cooper (21st min), Connolly (24th min) and Wallace (32nd min) wiped the Blades and put pay to any lingering hopes of automatic promotion. Portsmouth 24th, Sheffield United 6th.
Despite a superb run towards the end of the season, Leyton Orient miss out on a top-6 finish despite Cox giving the O's the lead on the stroke of half time against Coventry City at The Ricoh Arena. Coventry City 16th, Leyton Orient 7th.
Also missing out, despite a great run in the latter half of the season are Walsall, who were held by already relegated Bury at Bescot. Brandy gave the Saddlers the lead in the 22nd minute, only to be denied by Sodje in the 91st minute. Walsall 8th, Bury 23rd.
Scunthorpe United gave themselves hope of League One survival with an unlikely win away at Franchise FC as a sole Hawley goal in the 41st minute sealed victory. Scunny are now dependent on Colchester United slipping up next weekend, as well as a home win for Scunny to stay up. Franchise FC 9th, Scunthorpe United 21st.
Having led for most of the season, Tranmere Rovers are in grave danger of a mid-table finish after they lost to Preston North End at Deepdale. A sole Monkana goal on teh stroke of half time left Rovers way off the top-6, and much closer to mid table. Preston North End 13th, Tranmere Rovers 10th.
Oldham Athletic claimed League One survival with a 2-1 win over Crawley Town at Boundary Park. Smith gave the Latics the lead in the 56th minute, with Connolly levelling for the Sussex side in the 77th minute. The winner came from Mvoto in the 93rd minute. Oldham Athletic 18th, Crawley Town 12th.
The remaining game finished 0-0 between Colchester United (20th)and Shrewsbury Town (19th) at Col U's Community Stadium. Colchester United just need to avoid defeat away at Carlisle on the final day to guarantee their League One status.
