Luton Town confirmed themselves as Champions of League One as they ran out 2-1 winners at Wrexham, clocking up their 12th away League win of the campaign. Wrexham started the better, going in at the break 1-up through a 31st minute Holt goal. But after the break Luton Town struck through Davies (52) and Coyne (59) to claim the points. Wrexham 23rd, Luton Town 1st.

Luton only claimed the Title because Hull City were being humbled by Walsall at Bescot as Joachim notched a hat trick in the 34th, 53rd and 68th minutes. The win confirms Walsall's League One status for another season. Walsall 16th, Hull City 2nd.

On a day when the so called top teams were finding life difficult extended to Tranmere Rovers, who were surprisingly beaten at Swindon Town. Taylor put the visitors ahead on 20 minutes, only to see a brace from Smith (57 & 59) hit back to make sure that the points remained in Wiltshire. Swindon Town 11th, Tranmere Rovers 3rd.

Hartlepool United faired little better at Belle Vue against Doncaster Rovers, going down 2-0 to the Yorkshire side. Two second half strikes from Ravenhill (59) and Fortune-West (90) secured the points. Doncaster Rovers 9th, Hartlepool United 4th.

Sheffield Wednesday were the only other side in the top 7 to claim a point, but were held by Stockport County in a 0-0 draw at Hillsborough! Sheffeidl Wednesday 5th, Stockport County 24th.

AFC Bournemouth had another bad day at home, going down to their 5th straight home defeat, their 7th at Dean Court this season. This to Peterborough United, who were confirmed as relegated as well!! The single goal victory came courtesy of a 17th minute header from Willock. AFC Bournemouth 6th, Peterborough United 22nd.

Completing the nightmare at the top are Brentford, who slipped up to a 26th Abbott goal for Huddersfield Town at Griffin Park. Brentford 7th, Huddersfield Town 10th.

Sneaking up on the outside as unlikely play-off contenders are Bristol City. They claimed victory over Franchise FC at the National Hockey Stadium in a 2-1 win. McLeod put the hosts in front in the 8th minute, only to see Lita equalise just before the break (45th min) and then score the winner in the 70th minute. The win leaves City 3 points off a play-off place, and with a better goal difference than both AFC Bournemouth and Brentford. Franchise FC 21st, Bristol City 8th.

If Barnsley were hoping to end a mediocre season on a high, then they were in for a nasty shock at Vale Park, going down 5-0 to Port Vale! Birchall got Vale off the mark in the 16th minute. This was followed by a Paynter brace either side of half time (41 & 50) and rounded off with a brace from Dining (57 & 70). Port Vale 18th, Barnsley 13th.

Blackpool edged Chesterfield out, 1-0, at Bloomfield Road. Grayson scored the only goal of the game in the 18th minute. Blackpool 14th, Chesterfield 17th.

The big game of the day as far as the battle to beat the drop came at Boundary Park where Oldham Athletic went down (1-2) against battling Torquay United. Eyres but Oldham in front in the 25th minute, only to see Hockley level 4 minutes before the break. Akinfenwa made sure that the points were returning to Devon as he scored 4 minutes after the break. As Franchise FC lost, this priceless win saw Torquay Unite lift their heads above the dreaded dotted line, and relegated Peterborough United at the same time! Oldham Athletic 18th, Torquay United 20th.

The only other game in League One saw Colchester United and Bradford City see out a 0-0 draw at Layer Road. Colchester United 15th, Bradford City 12th.
