Leyton Orient sit on top of the pile at the moment following their second win of the season at Brisbane Road against Walsall. The only goal of the game was scored by Gray in the 52nd minute. Leyton Orient 1st, Walsall 20th.

Huddersfield Town move in to 2nd place with their 2nd win of the campaign at the expense of AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court. The seasiders failed to deal with a free kick in the 43rd minute, allowing Beckett to head home unopposed. Huddersfield Town 2nd, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

Crewe Alexandra gained a point on their travels to The Memorial Ground to face newly promoted Bristol Rovers. Disley scored in the 32nd minute only to see Pope level just 2 minutes later. Bristol Rovers 14th, Crewe Alexandra 3rd.

Newly promoted Swindon Town claimed their first win of the campaign against relegated Luton Town at The County Ground. Peacock put the home side ahead in the 56th minute only to see Edwards level 10 minutes later. The game looked to be heading for a draw until Easton scored the winner with just 2 minutes left on the clock. Swindon Town 4th, Luton Town 10th.

Carlisle United chalked up their first win of the campaign over promotion hopefuls Oldham Athletic at Brunton Park. The only goal of the game came in the 42nd minute courtesy of a Graham penalty. Carlisle United 5th, Oldham Athletic 11th.

Millwall also claimed their first win of the new season with a 1-0 victory over Cheltenham Town at The New Den. The only goal of the game came on the stroke of half time through Spiller. Millwall 6th, Cheltenham Town 12th.

Tranmere Rovers claimed their first away win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Gillingham at Priestfield. Goals from Greenacre (19 mins) and Davies (50 mins) was enough to claim 3 points. Gillingham 22nd, Tranmere Rovers 7th.

Brighton & Hove Albion are off the mark with a 2-1 home win over Northampton Town at Withdean. A Hammond penalty in the 2nd minute was cancelled out by a Kirk equaliser in the 23rd minute. The winner came mid-way through the 2nd period when Revell scored the all important goal. Brighton & Hove Albion 8th, Northampton Town 16th.

Hartlepool United got their season off and running with a 'giant killing' in the Carling Cup in the week, and followed it up with a good win over promotion hopefuls Doncaster Rovers at Victoria Park. Antwi gave the home side a half time lead with a goal in the 43rd minute. A certain Jamie Hayter levelled in the 71st, only to see Barker score the winner in the 81st minute from the penalty spot. Hartlepool United 9th, Doncaster Rovers 17th.

Following their mid-week disappointment in the Carling Cup, Yeovil Town bounced back with a win over Port Vale at Huish Park. Cochrane scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute. Yeovil Town 13th, Port Vale 18th.

Nottingham Forest have continued their stuttering start to the new season, this time drawing 0-0 away at Swansea City in the Liberty Stadium. Swansea City 19th, Nottingham Forest 15th.

Leeds United continued their good start to the new season with a 2nd League win at Elland Road over Southend United. Thompson had put Leeds ahead in the 3rd minute with Barrett levelling in the 69th. In the final 5 minutes Southend collapsed as Flo (85 mins), Marques (88 mins) and Beckford (90 mins) made sure of the points. Leeds United 24th, Southend United 23rd.
