Swansea City remain top despite having their match at Bristol Rovers called off due to a waterlogged Memorial Ground. Bristol Rovers 19th, Swansea City 1st.

Leyton Orient draw level at the top of the table, but remain 2nd, on goal difference, as they managed to beat Cheltenham Town at Brisbane Road. Boyd fired the home side ahead in the 41st minute, with Melligan making sure of the points in the 76th minute. Leyton Orient 2nd, Cheltenham Town 22nd.

Nottingham Forest closed the gap on the leading clubs as they won away at Withdean against Brighton & Hove Albion. A Tyson brace in the 30th and 49th minutes was enough to secure a valuable 3-points for the East Midlands side. Brighton & Hove Albion 11th, Nottingham Forest 3rd.

Carlisle United made the long journey south to face Northampton Town at Sixfields coming away with just a point. Bridge-Wilkinson put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute, but saw Crowe level 2 minutes later. Garner restored the advantage but then saw Johnson level for the home side in the final few seconds of the match. Northampton Town 18th, Carlisle United 4th.

Leeds United comprehansively saw off their Yorkshire neighbours, Huddersfield Town with a 4-0 win at Elland Road. Douglas put the home side ahead in the 24th minute. This was followed with a brace from Beckford in the 49th and 69th minutes, with Flo completing the scoring in the 87th minute. Leeds United 5th, Huddersfield Town 15th.

Southend United left it late to claim the points against Swindon Town at Roots Hall. Cox had given Town a 2nd minute lead. That was wiped out when Barrett levelled in the 32nd minute. The points were claimed by the home side in the final few minutes of the game when Gower scored the winner. Southend United 6th, Swindon Town 14th.

Doncaster Rovers left it very late to claim a point against Oldham Athletic at Boudary Park. Allott gave the home side a 44th minute lead, but then saw Hayter level from the penalty spot deep in to 2nd half injury time. Oldham Athletic 17th, Doncaster Rovers 7th.

Having struggled in recent weeks, Yeovil Town are well and truely back to winning ways following a 3-1 win over Hartlepool United at Huish Park even though Mackay gave the visitors a 10th minute lead. Skiverton levelled in the 27th minute, Stewart then gave the Glovers a 31st minute lead with Jennings completing the win in the 63rd minute. Yeovil Town 9th, Hartlepool United 12th.

Tranmere Rovers piled more misery on hapless AFC Bournemouth at Prenton Park with a comprehensive 3-1 win, to condemn the Cherries to the root of the table. Zola fired the home side ahead in the 23rd minute with Greenacre extending the lead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute. Jennings made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute before Vokes pulled one back for the South Coast side in the 76th minute. Tranmere Rovers 10th, AFC Bournemouth 24th.

Gillingham slipped up for just the 2nd time at Priestfield as Port Vale claimed their 2nd away win of the campaign, lifting themselves off the foot of the table at the same time. Dickson had given the home side a 32nd minute, but saw Willock level just 2 minutes later. A King own goal on the stroke of half time was enough to give Vale a precious win. Gillingham 16th, Port Vale 21st.

Crewe Alexandra (13th) and Walsall (8th) could only manage a 0-0 draw at Gresty Road.

The only other game due to be played was between Luton Town (23rd) and Millwall (20th) at Kenilworth Road, but that was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
