The game of the day was staged at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City faced Leeds United. Robinson gave the Swans a 9th minute lead, which was cancelled out by Beckford in the 12th minute. The home sides lead was restored in the 23rd minute through Monk. Scotland added to the advantage just before the break, that after Bodde had been sent off for the home side in the 38th minute. Thompson reduced the arrears just after the break, but it wasn't enough as the Swans held on for a win in front of over 19000 supporters. Swansea City 1st, Leeds United 3rd.

Nottingham Forest couldn't keep pace with Gillingham at Priestfield, going down to a thumping 3-0 defeat against the Kent side. The damage was done in the 2nd period as Mulligan (49 mins), Miller (61 mins) and Griffiths (81 mins) wrapped up the points as the East Midland side failed to take their chances. Gillingham 17th, Nottingham Forest 2nd.

Doncaster Rovers find themselves within striking range of an automatic promotion place following a comfortable 3-1 win over Southend United at the Keepmoat Stadium. Lockwood gave the home side an 8th minute lead, but saw McDonald level in the 18th minute. Green restored the lead in the 30th minute, with Roberts scoring a third in the 42nd minute. Doncaster Rovers 4th, Southend United 10th.

Carlisle United made the long journey down the M6 and M5 to Bristol Rovers and came away with nothing as they slipped to their 4th away defeat of the season, while Bristol Rovers secured just their 2nd home win of the campaign. Hines and Hilton gave the home side a great start with strikes in the 8th and 15th minutes. Williams secured the win with a 3rd goal in the 59th minute. Bristol Rovers 20th, Carlisle United 5th.

Walsall maintained their recent good form with a 2-0 away win against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. Dann gave the Saddlers a 2nd minute lead, with Ricketts extending the lead, and securing the win, in the 65th minute. Oldham Athletic 15th, Walsall 6th.

Hartlepool United came from behind to secure a point against Leyton Orient at the Victoria Ground. Chambers gave the Londoners a 33rd minute lead. Moore levelled for the home side in the 55th minute. Hartlepool United 14th, Leyton Orient 7th.

Yeovil Town held off Brighton & Hove Albion to secure a win at Huish Park, winning 2-1. Revell had given the Seagulls a 19th minute lead, which was cancelled out by Dempsey in the 42nd minute. The winner came 5 minutes after the restart when Steiber scored in the 50th minute. Yeovil Town 8th, Brighton & Hove Albion 12th.

Tranmere Rovers secured a single goal win over Cheltenham Town at Prenton Park, when Zola scored in the 59th minute. Tranmere Rovers 9th, Cheltenham Town 23rd.

Swindon Town were made to fight for their share of the spoils at Dean Court against battling AFC Bournemouth. Corr gave the visitors the lead in the 49th minute after a dire opening 45 minutes. Kuffour levelled in the 63rd minutem while Vokes gave the Cherries a 78th minute lead. Corr levelled to salvage a point in the 83rd minute. AFC Bournemouth 22nd, Swindon Town 11th.

Huddersfield Town slipped at home for the 4th time this season - Northampton Town doing the damage in a 2-1 away win at the Galpharm Stadium, this after Booth gave the home side a 45th minute lead. Hubertz levelled for the visitors in the 71st minute, with Crowe scoring what proved to be the winner in the 85th minute. Huddersfield Town 13th, Northampton Town 16th.

Millwall eased away from the drop zone with a 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at the New Den. A Harris penalty on the stroke of half time, and a Brkovic strike in the 53rd minute, was enough to secure the points for the home side. Millwall 18th, Crewe Alexandra 19th.

Port Vale hosted Luton Town in a relegation clash at Vale Park which saw the visitors come out on top. Fojut gave Town a 3rd minute lead. Willock levelled on the stroke of half time, but it wasn't enough as Spring secured the win in the final few seconds of the match. Port Vale 24th, Luton Town 21st.
