It all looked over for the Cherries, but a triple half time change saw Vokes come on, score straight away and then net a second in the 74th minute. Nottingham Forest lost their top spot following their 2nd home draw of the season against Tranmere Rovers at the City Ground. Taylor had put the visitors ahead in the 49th minute, only to see Perch secure a share of the points in the 72nd minute. Nottingham Forest 2nd, Tranmere Rovers 8th.
Oldham Athletic closed the gap on the top spot to 3-points with a convincing 3-0 away win over Gillingham at Priestfield. Porter (26 mins) and Liddell (36 mins - pen) gave the Latics a half time lead. The points were wrapped up with a Eardley strike in the 54th minute. Gillingham 12th, Oldham Athletic 3rd.
Bristol City were made to work for their win at home against Port Vale. Smith had given the visitors the lead in the 68th minute, but that only lasted a minute as Brooker equalised almost immediately. Murray scored the winner in the 76th minute. Bristol City 4th, Port Vale 11th.
Blackpool are nicely nestled in a play-off place having secured a 3-1 home win over Doncaster Rovers at Bloomfield Road. With 13 minutes to go it was still 0-0, but then Vernon (77 mins), Barker (81 mins) and Vernon again (83 mins) made sure of the points for the home side as Donny collapsed. A Heffernan consolation was scored in the final few seconds. Blackpool 5th, Doncaster Rovers 9th.
Crewe Alexandra gifted Yeovil Town an early 2-goal at Gresty Road allowing Best to net in the 5th and 8th minutes. Morris made it 3 for the Somerset side in the 70th minute. Then Crewe netted through Maynard (77 mins) and Roberts (80 mins), but it wasn't enough to complete a comeback. Crewe Alexandra 17th, Yeovil Town 6th.
Swansea City will be kicking themselves this evening as they let a 2-goal lead slip away to Huddersfield Town at the Glapharm Stadium to loose 3-2! A Trundle brace in the 9th (a pen) and 43rd minutes gave the Welsh side a nice half time lead. Worthington pulled one back in the 67th minute with Abbott equalising in the 75th minute. Drama in the final few seconds when Abbott netted a last gasp penalty to complete the comeback. Trundle was sent off for raising an arm at Abbott. Huddersfield Town 14th, Swansea City 7th.
Carlisle United made the long trip south to Brighton & Hove Albion, and treated their fans to 3-points at the Withdean Stadium to claim their 2nd away win of the season. Gatting gave the Seagulls a half time lead with a goal in the 37th minute. Aranalde cancelled that out with a strike in the 56th minute. The win was complete with a McDermott strike in the 82nd minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 15th, Carlisle United 10th.
Bradford City made hard work of struggling Cheltenham Town at Valley Parade, having to come from behind to claim a point. It all looked good when Wetherall gave City the lead in the 15th minute. Finnigan levelled from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, which was followed by Odejayi strike to give the visitors the lead in the 60th minute. Johnson salvaged a point with a strike in the 65th minute. Bradford City 13th, Cheltenham Town 22nd.
Brentford secured a vital home win over Chesterfield at Griffin Park - only their 3rd home win of the season! A Kuffour brace in the 2nd and 67th minutes more or less gave Brentford the points, but a nervy final few minutes was played out after Hazell pulled one back in the 79th minute. Brentford 24th, Chesterfield 16th.
Struggling Rotherham United and Leyton Orient managed to get themselves to a 2-2 draw at Millmoor. Chambers gave Leyton a 15th minute lead. Alexander extended the advantage in the 52nd minute. After that the home side staged a comeback when Hoskins netted a brace in the 69th and 81st minutes to secure a share of the points. Rotherham United 20th, Leyton Orient 19th.
Finally, the game between Northampton Town and Millwall was abandoned after 68 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the score at 1-0 to the visitors. Hubertz gave the SE London side the lead in the 11th minute. No date fixed for a rearranged match. Northampton Town 18th, Millwall 21st.
