Swansea City maintained their lead at the top of the table with a 3-0 win over Northampton Town at the Liberty Stadium. Scotland and Prately scored two quick goals for the Swans in the 16th and 19th minutes which effectively killed the game. Scotland made sure there was no comeback with a penalty in the 66th minute. Swansea City 1st, Northampton Town 19th.

Carlisle United maintained the pressure at the top with a 3-0 win over Swindon Town at Brunton Park. Anyinsah scored a brace with goals in the 27th and 54th minutes. Garner made sure of the points with a goal of his own in the 75th minute. Carlisle United 2nd, Swindon Town 13th.

Leyton Orient suffered their 3rd home defeat of the season with Millwall winning 1-0 at Brisbane Road. Whitbread scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute. Leyton Orient 3rd, Millwall 19th.

Nottingham Forest slipped to their 2nd away defeat of the campaign at Walsall. Ricketts scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute at Bescot. Walsall 8th, Nottingham Forest 4th.

Leeds United maintained their push for promotion with a 3-0 win over struggling Port Vale at Elland Road. Goals from Prutton (18 mins), Beckford (55 mins) and Flo (83 mins) was enough to secure the win, and keep Vale rooted to the bottom of the table. Leeds United 5th, Port Vale 24th.

Yeovil Town are moving back in the right direction having stubbornly holding out for a win against struggling AFC Bournemouth at Huish Park. First half goals from Skiverton (3 mins) and Walker (38 mins) secured a first half lead, with Pitman scoring from the penalty spot in the 65th minute after Jones handled on the line - an action which also saw a red card produced. Yeovil Town 10th, AFC Bournemouth 23rd.

Hartlepool United jumped ahead of Tranmere Rovers in the table with a 3-1 win over the Wirral side at the Victoria Ground. Liddel got the home side off to a flying side in the 3rd minute with Brown adding to the lead in the 11th minute. The win was secured when Porter scored the home sides 3rd in the 58th minute. Hartlepool United 11th, Tranmere Rovers 12th.

Gillingham claimed their first away win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road. Bentley gave the Kent side an 8th minute lead, but saw that wipped out as Moore levelled in the 43rd minute and Roberts putting the home side ahead in the 49th minute. Parity was restored when Dickson levelled from the penalty spot in the 56th minute. ickson scored the winner in the 73rd minute to set up the Gills first away win of the season. Crewe Alexandra 14th, Gillingham 16th.

Oldham Athletic and Luton Town had to settle for a share of the points at Boundary Park. Davies put the home side ahead in the 32nd minute with Fojut levelling 2 minutes later. Oldham Athletic 17th, Luton Town 22nd.

Doncaster Rovers (6th) and Brighton & Hove Albion (7th) would only muster a 0-0 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Bristol Rovers (18th) face Cheltenham Town (21st) at the Memorial Ground and Southend United (9th) entertain Huddersfield Town (15th) at Roots Hall on Wednesday night.
