Sheffield United take over at the summit of League One as they managed to see off Crawley Town at Broadhall Way as the Yorkshire side claimed a 2-0 win. A brace from McMahon in the 29th and 72nd minutes claimed the points to take the Blades to the top. Crawley Town 10th, Sheffield United 1st.

Tranmere Rovers were well and truely humilated at The County Ground where Swindon Town ran riot with a 5-0 win. Goals from Hollands (4th min), De Vita (7th min) got Town off to a flying start. Following hot on their heals were goals from Williams (21st min) and Ritchie (33rd min). Williams rounded off the scoring in the 51st minute. Swindon Town 5th, Tranmere Rovers 2nd.

The only other game played over the weekend came at Gigg Lane where the Friday nights encounter between Bury and Shrewsbury Town survived the onslaught of the rain. Morgan gave the Shrews the lead in the 1st minute, only to see Doherty level in the 10th minute. The games involving Brentford (3rd)/Stevenage Borough (7th); Crewe Alexandra (12th)/AFC Bournemouth (9th); Doncaster Rovers (4th)/Franchise FC (6th); Hartlepool United (24th)/Portsmouth (21st); Notts County (8th)/Leyton Orient (14th) and Scunthorpe United (23rd)/Carlisle United (20th) were all victims of the weather.
