Tranmere Rovers were pegged back by Portsmouth as the Hampshire side claimed an unlikely point. Taylor gave Rovers the lead in the 31st minute, with Gyepes levelling 5 minutes after the break. O'Halloran restored the advantage in the 74th minute, leaving Jervis to level a minute later. Tranmere Rovers 1st, Portsmouth 20th.

Swindon Town and Doncaster Rovers had to settle for a share of the points at The County Ground as the goals came in the opening 10 minutes. Ritchie gave Town the lead in the 8th minute, with Hollands putting past his own keeper 2 minutes later. Swindon Town 8th, Doncaster Rovers 2nd.

Sheffield United closed the gap at the top to a single point as the Blades raced to a 3-1 win over Carlisle United at Brunton Park. Flynn gave the visitors the lead in the 16th minute, with Blackman doubling the advantage in the 34th minute. Livesey responded with one for the Cumbrians in the 71st minute, but the 2-goal cushion was restored by Collins with 6 minutes left on the clock. Carlisle United 18th, Sheffield United 3rd.

Brentford claimed a last minute winner against Franchise FC at Griffin Park. Lowe have given Franchise the lead in the 14th minute, with Donaldson levelling 2 minutes before the break. Gleeson restored the visitors advantage in the 53rd minute, with Forrester (72nd min) and Donaldson (89th min) scoring the goals to keep the points in SW London. Brentford 4th, Franchise FC 6th.

Stevenage Borough claimed 3-points against struggling Hartlepool United as goals from Haber (19th min) and Akins (60th min pen) kept the home side rooted the bottom, some 10-points adrift of safety. Hartlepool United 24th, Stevenage Borough 5th.

Notts County (7th) and Yeovil Town (13th) played out a 0-0 draw at Huish Park. County won the yellow card count 5-2.

AFC Bournemouth managed to extend their recent unbeaten run to 12 matches with a 2-1 win over Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park. Grabban gave the Cherries the lead in the 26th minute, with Fogden doubling the advantage 3 minutes later, that 2nd goal coming moments after Scunny saw James save a penalty. Hawley did managed to convert a penalty in the 64th minute, but it wasn't enough to salvage apoint. Scunthorpe United 23rd, AFC Bournemouth 9th.

Crawley Town seem to be slipping backwards at the moment, their cause not helped with a 2-2 draw at home with Shrewsbury Town at Broadhall Way, even though Simpson gave the home side a first minute lead. Richards levelled for the Shrews in the 14th minute with Richards giving the visitors the lead in the 34th minute. Simpson levelled for the home side with 9 minutes left on the clock. Crawley Town 10th, Shrewsbury Town 21st.

Leyton Orient made it 5 wins on the spin as they came away from Gigg Lane with a 2-0 win against Bury. A brace from Lisbie in the 31st and 56th minutes secured the all-important points. Bury 22nd, Leyton Orient 11th.

Crewe Alexandra recorded an important 3-1 victory over near neighbours, Preston North End at Deepdale. Goals from Murphy (32nd min), Inman (49th min) and Pogba (52nd min) more than sealed the points before Huntingdon netted an 89th minute consolation. Preston North End 14th, Crewe Alexandra 12th.

Coventry City recorded the biggest win of the day (5-1) against Midlands neighbours, Walsall, at the Ricoh Arena, even though Adams gave the Saddlers the lead in the 16th minute with an own goal. the Sky Blues hit back through Baker (29th and 84th mins), McGoldrick (39th and 41st mins), and Christie (61st min) to complete the rout. Coventry City 15th, Walsall 19th.

Oldham Athletic bounced back with a 2-0 win away at inconsistent Colchester United at their Community Stadium. Mvoto (33rd min) and an own goal from Wilson in the 61st minute. Colchester United 17th, Oldham Athletic 16th.
