Scunthorpe United extended their lead at the top of League One to a comfortable 7-points as they demolished Gillingham at Glanford Park. Hinds fired Scunny ahead in the 24th minute. Jarvis levelled for the Kent side in the 54th minute. But any thoughts of an away point were dismissed as Mulligan (65 mins) and Morris (90 mins) made sure that the points remained with the home team. Scunthorpe United 1st, Gillingham 17th.

Yeovil Town lifted themselves up in to the automatic promotion places with a single goal win over Swansea City at Huish Park. The only goal of the game came when Stewart scored in the 56th minute. Yeovil Town 2nd, Swansea City 9th.

Nottingham Forest remain level on points with Yeovil, but in a play-off place as they made the short journey to Chesterfield, and came away with their 7th away win of the season. An Agogo brace in the 56th and 62nd (the latter coming from the spot) gave the visitors a 2-goal lead before Downes pulled one back in the 67th minute. An equaliser was not forthcoming. Chesterfield 19th, Nottingham Forest 3rd.

Bristol City also helped their cause with a 2-0 away win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Withdean. Jevons netted both goals in the 43rd and 84th minutes, the latter coming from the penalty spot. Brighton & Hove Albion 12th, Bristol City 4th.

After recent great form to lift from mid-table in to the promotion places, Oldham Athletic seem to be falling back again as AFC Bournemouth claimed a most unlikely win to boost their survival chances. McGoldrick and Vidarsson scored 2 quick goals for the Cherries in the 29th and 31st minute. Liddell pulled back a goal for the Latics in the 45th minute from the penalty spot. Bournemouth won the yellow card count 6-0, but Oldham won the red card count 1-0! Oldham Athletic 5th, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

Tranmere Rovers seem to be blowing hot and cold at the moment. Their chances of making the play offs were not helped with a 3-1 reverse on their travels against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road! Miller gave the home side the lead in the 18th minute, with Jarvis doubling the advantage in the 29th minute. Greenacre pulled one back for the visitors in the 34th minute before Jarvis completed his brace in the 39th minute. Leyton Orient 18th, Tranmere Rovers 6th.

Carlisle United won for the 4th time on their travels as Garner scored the only goal of the game against Cheltenham Town in the 15th minute to take the points back up the M5 and M6! Cheltenham Town 22nd, Carlisle United 7th.

Doncaster Rovers claimed yet another home win in their new stadium against Port Vale with a single goal win. That goal came in the 49th minute from Price. Doncaster Rovers 8th, Port Vale 15th.

Blackpool are another side that appears to be going backwards at the moment. They slipped up at home to Millwall as Brammer scored the only goal of the game in the 29th minute. Blackpool 10th, Millwall 14th.

Crewe Alexandra have dragged themselves away from a potential relegation scrap as they won away in the Galpharm Stadium against Huddersfield Town. The home side did take the lead through Brandon in the 22nd minute. Crewe equalised through Higdon on the stroke of half time and then claimed the points through Lowe in the 69th minute. Huddersfield Town 13th, Crewe Alexandra 11th.

Northampton Town piled on more misery for Rotherham United as they romped to a 3-0 win at Sixfields, leaving the Millers 8 points adrift at the bottom of League One, and 14 points adrift of safety! Deuchar put the home side ahead in the 15th minute, which was followed by Hughes in the 21st and Taylor in the 45th! Northampton Town 16th, Rotherham United 24th.

Bradford City have been in free fall just recently and are just above the drop zone. They did claim a point against fellow strugglers Brentford at Valley Parade. O'Connor put the home side ahead in the 48th minute from the penalty spot, with Schumacher doing the same (from the spot) in the 88th minute. Bradford City 20th, Brentford 23rd.
