The game of the day came at Layer Road when Colchester United hosted their Essex rivals, Southend United. The visitors underlined why they are now 6-points clear at the top with an emphatic 3-0 win! Eastwood got the ball rolling in the 10th minute with his 15th of the season, which was followed with goals from Maher (20) and Wilson (31) to complete the scoring in just over the first half hour! Colchester United 5th, Southend United 1st.

Huddersfield Town let a couple of points slip at home to Doncaster Rovers in a 2-2 draw at their Galpharm Stadium. McIntosh put the home side ahead in the 7th minute, but that was cancelled out in the 14th by Price. The lead was restored in the 39th minute by Graham, but the last laugh came from Green, who levelled 11 minutes after the restart. Huddersfield Town 2nd, Doncaster Rovers 9th.

Barnsley and Swansea City battled out another 2-2 draw at Oakwell. Robinson put the visitors ahead 2 minutes in to the second half, but then saw the home side level through Nardiello in the 55th minute, and then take the lead in the 60th minute through a Richards penalty. Parity, was restored by Trundle in the 63rd minute, which also completed a mad 16 minutes of goal scoring! Barnsley 3rd, Swansea City 4th.

Chesterfield must have wondered what on earth hit them when Yeovil Town rolled in to Saltergate. A Davies hat trick was more than enough to secure the win with strikes in the 36th, 89th and 90th minutes! Chesterfield 8th, Yeovil Town 17th.

The only other game played in League One came at Ashton Gate when Bristol City entertained Nottingham Forest for a 1-1 draw. Perch gave the visitors the lead in the 65th minute, but saw that cancelled out when Russell levelled in the 77th minute. Bristol City 13th, Nottingham Forest 10th.

Everyone else had their games called off due to the frozen weather conditions!
