Luton Town were denied a 100-point tally as they were held by Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue. Guy put Rovers ahead in the first minute only to see Perrett (32) and Howard (36) help secure Luton a first half lead. Ex Cherry, Steve Robinson put past his own keeper to draw Rovers level. Nicholls put the League One Champions back in front on 63, only to see Guy score his second of the game to secure a point for the home side. Doncaster Rovers 10th, Luton Town 1st.

Hull City slipped up against play-off chasing Brentford at Griffin Park, going down 2-1 to the Londoners. Cort may have put City one-up in the first minute, but Sobers levelled on 43, and Tabb netted the winner in the 86th minute. Brentford 4th, Hull City 2nd.

Tranmere Rovers fielded a weakened side against Franchise FC, and lost 2-1 at the National Hockey Stadium. As a result the Franchise holders were denied relegation to League Two! A brace from Edds (6 & 84) kept the Franchisees up in League One for another season, while Tranmere could only score what proved to be a consolation through Beresford in the 65th minute. Franchise FC 20th, Tranmere Rovers 3rd.

Sheffield Wednesday were thanking the fact that they were already in the play-off lottery as they slipped up (2-3) against Bristol City at Hillsborough - their 7th home defeat of the season! A brace from Brooker (25 & 45) made sure that City went in at the break 2-up. McGovern (52) and Wood (61) pulled The Owls level before a Wilkshire penalty (81) ensured a good end to the season for the Bristol side. Sheffield Wednesday 5th, Bristol City 7th.

Hartlepool United broke the hearts of AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court as they secured the all important point to claim the 4th and final play-off place. Bournemouth did their best to claim the final place on the end of season play-offs as they twice went ahead through Jamie Hayter (12 & 31), but The Cherries were twice pegged back through Daly (20) and Sweeney (65). Hartlepool United 6th, AFC Bournemouth 8th.

Huddersfield Town, who also finished the season strongly, completed their campaign with a 1-0 away win against Wrexham. Mirfin (43) put the final nail in the Welsh sides coffin for the season. Huddersfield Town 9th, Wrexham 22nd.

Bradford City aided Oldham Athletic to League One survival, going down 2-1 to the Lancashire side. Killen got Oldham off the mark in the 3rd minute, with Dean Windass netting his 4th goal in 2 games on 10 minutes. The scoring was wrapped up on 22 minutes as Beckett secured the win for The Latics. Oldham Athletic 19th, Bradford City 11th.

Swindon Town completed their season with a 1-1 draw against Chesterfield. Parkin put the home side ahead on 13 minutes, which was cancelled out by N'Toya on 21 minutes. Swindon Town 12th, Chesterfield 17th.

Barnsley got the better of fellow mid-table side Blackpool at Bloomfield Road with a 2-0 win. Shuker netted on 38, with Williams securing the win in the 85th minute. Blackpool 16th, Barnsley 13th.

Walsall must be confident of a good season next time round having finished this one with a strong finish with a fine 3-0 win over hapless Stockport County. But they left it late to do so! Fryatt (86), Taylor (89) and Wright (90) completed a miserable season for County. Walsall 14th, Stockport County 24th.

Colchester United beat Torquay United 2-1, and in the process condemned Torquay United to League Two football next season. Danns put the U's in front on 42 minutes. Woodman must have thought that his leveller in the 90th minute was enough to save the West Country side from the drop. But it wasn't to be as Keith scored the winner deep in to injury time to send Torquay United down. Colchester United 15th, Torquay United 21st.

Finally, Port Vale hosted Peterborough United and beat them 1-0 (Dinning - 63 mins), ensuring that Barry Fry's time in management rounded off on a poor note and bad season for Cambridgeshire football. Port Vale 18th, Peterborough United 23rd.
