Swansea City maintained their charge towards the Championship with a 2-0 win over struggling Port Vale at The Liberty Stadium. The win came coutesy of 2 goals from Bodde (28 mins) and Pratley (47 mins) to keep the Swans 5 points clear at the top of the table. Swansea City 1st, Port Vale 23rd.

Carlisle United moved back in to the automatic promotion places with a 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at Brunton Park. The only goal of the game came in the 52nd minute when Garner found the back of the net. Carlisle United 2nd, Crewe Alexandra 19th.

Nottingham Forest slipped up on their travels despite scoring all three goals at the County Ground against Swindon Town. Own goals from Perch and Breckin in the 35th and 82nd minutes, either side of a Chambers goal in the 63rd minute was enough for Town to seal the win. Swindon Town 11th, Nottingham Forest 3rd.

Domcaster Rovers came away with a win against Yorkshire rivals at Elland Road against Leeds United. Brian Stock scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute. Leeds United 5th, Doncaster Rovers 4th.

Leyton Orient are back in the play-off places again, following a 2-1 win over Luton Town at Brisbane Road. Boyd (39 mins) and Barcham (55 mins) gave the home side a 2-0 lead before Keane pulled one back in the 67th minute, but it wasn't enough. Leyton Orient 6th, Luton Town 22nd.

Walsall had to be content with a draw at The Memorial Ground against Bristol Rovers. Sonko gave the Saddlers a 37th minute lead, with Disley levelling with just 3 minutes left on the clock. Bristol Rovers 16th, Walsall 7th.

Southend United chalked up the biggest win of the day with an emphatic 4-1 thrashing of AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court. Gower (18 mins), Francis (23 mins) and Black (45 mins) gave the Essex side an unasailable half time lead. Cummings gave the Cherries hop in the 50th minute before Hooper put the result beyond doubt in the 65th minute. AFC Bournemouth 24th, Southend United 8th.

Tranmere Rovers headed for the Capital, and came away with a 1-0 win over Millwall at The New Den. Kay scored the winner in the 87th minute. Millwall 21st, Tranmere Rovers 9th.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town had to make do with a share of the points at Withdean. Elphick gave Albion a 74th minute lead, with Town levelling in the 77th minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 12th, Huddersfield Town 15th.

Gillingham continue to look over their shoulders at the relegation places following their 3rd defeat at Priestfield against Northampton Town. The only goal of the game came in the 3rd minute when Jones found the back of the net. Gillingham 18th, Northampton Town 14th.

Hartlepool United slipped to a surprise defeat at home to Cheltenham Town at the Victoria Ground. A brace from Gillespie in the 11th and 84th minutes was enough to take the points back to Gloucestershire. Hartlepool United 17th, Cheltenham Town 20th.

The only other game in League One this weekend saw Yeovil Town (10th) draw 0-0 against Oldham Athletic (13th) at Huish Park.
