The game of the day came at The City Ground where Nottingham Forest hosted Swansea City, where the game finished 0-0 in front of over 21000 fans. Nottingham Forest 3rd, Swansea City 1st.

Doncaster Rovers lifted themselves in to the automatic promotion places with a 2-0 home win over Hartlepool United at Keepmoat Stadium. Wellens put the home side ahead in the 34th minute, with Lockwood adding to the score in the 54th minute. Doncaster Rovers 2nd, Hartlepool United 16th.

Walsall (4th) were held at home by Leyton Orient (7th) at Bescot in another top-of-the-table 0-0 draw.

Oldham Athletic claimed their 3rd home win of the season with a 2-0 home win over Carlisle United at Boundary Park. McDonald netted both goals in the 21st and 44th minutes. Oldham Athletic 13th, Carlisle United 5th.

Leeds United slipped to defeat at Roots Hall against Southend United. Barnard scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute. Southend United 9th, Leeds United 6th.

Tranmere Rovers recorded their 8th home win of the season with a 2-0 home win over Gillingham at Prenton Park. McLaren opened the scoring in the 7th with Zola doubling the advantage in the 14th minute. Tranmere Rovers 8th, Gillingham 18th.

Swindon Town continued their current good form with a single goal win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Roberts scored the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute. Luton Town 23rd, Swindon Town 10th.

Northampton Town kept alive their play-off chances with an important home win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Hughes scored the only goal of the game in the 44th minute. Northampton Town 11th, Brighton & Hove Albion 14th.

Struggling Port Vale played host to Yeovil Town at Vale Park, and managed to come away a point, but still remained (effectively) 10-points adrift of safety. Dempsey gave Town the lead after 6 minutes with Eckersley equalising in the 38th minute. Kirk restored the lead again in the 52nd minute with Edwards levelling in the 58th minute. Port Vale 24th, Yeovil Town 12th.

Huddersfield Town put a stop to the recent up turn in form of AFC Bournemouth with a single goal home win at the Galpharm Stadium. The only goal of the game came in the 35th minute from Jevons. Huddersfield Town 15th, AFC Bournemouth 22nd.

Goals wither side of half time between Crewe Alexandra and Bristol Rovers at Grest Road ensured a share of the points. A Williams own goal just before half time gave Rovers the lead with the equaliser from Pope coming in the 47th minute. Crewe Alexandra 21st, Bristol Rovers 17th.

Cheltenham Town were hoping to continue their recent up turn in form with a win over Millwall at Whaddon Road. Instead the side from SE London claimed victory in the 55th minute when Alexander found the back of the net. Cheltenham Town 20th, Millwall 19th.
