Leaders Doncaster Rovers, who have a bit of a home jinx were thwarted at the Keepmoat by struggling Portsmouth even though Brown gave Donny the lead in the 37th minute. To their credit, Wallace struck back for Pompey in the 75th minute to give them a glimour of hope of avoiding the drop, but to do that they must win all of their remaining matches given the pending 10-point deduction to come. Doncaster Rovers 1st, Portsmouth 23rd.

Brentford managed to slip in to the automatic promotion places courtesy of a narrow 1-0 win over Preston North End at Griffin Park. The Bees left it very late to claim 3-points as Saunders netted from the penalty spot in the 94th minute. Brentford 2nd, Preston North End 16th.

The shock result of the day came at Broadhall Way where Stevenage Borough blitzed Sheffield United with a stunning 4-0 win. Lopez netted a hat trick with strikes in the 41st, 50th and 64th minutes, with a fourth coming from Akins in the 69th minute. Stevenage Borough 16th, Sheffield United 3rd.

The only other winners in the top-7 were AFC Bournemouth who record a single goal win over struggling Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park. The only game came midway through the first half through Pitman whose goal fired the Cherries back in to the play-off places. The Latics missed a penalty in the second half. Oldham Athletic 21st, AFC Bournemouth 4th.

Yeovil Town (6th) and Swindon Town (5th) didn't play on Saturday. Their match is due to be played on Tuesday evening, which is also being covered on Sky Sports.

Tranmere Rovers saw their chances of end of season honours dented with a 3-0 drubbing against Franchise FC at Stadium:Franchise. Goals from Lewington (9th min), Gleeson (43rd min) and Potter (51st min) sealed the win for the home side. Franchise FC 12th, Tranmere Rovers 7th.

Coventry City put their off-the-field troubles behind them with a 1-0 win over Hartlepool United at The Ricoh arena. McDonald bagged the only goal in the 33rd minute. Coventry City 8th, Hartlepool United 22nd.

Walsall left it very late to claim a point at Bescot against Crawley Town. Town bagged a 2-goal lead through Proctor (52nd min) and Hayes (71st min), only to see very late goals from Paterson (90th min) and a Grigg penalty (92nd min) salvage a point to keep them on the edge of the play-off picture. Walsall 9th, Crawley Town 13th.

Also on the edge of the play-offs, are Leyton Orient who administered a 4-1 thrashing over Carlisle United at Brisbane Road. The O's established a 3-goal lead through Vincelot (32nd min), Batt (45th min) and a Lisbie penalty (69th min) saw a consolation netted by Robson in the 78th minute before Cox put the result beyond doubt with an 89th minute strike. Notts County edged relegation threatened Scunthorpe United at Meadow Lane as Leacock netted the only goal of the game in the 81st minute. Notts County 11th, Scunthorpe United 20th.

With 9-matches left for them to play, is the writing on the wall for Bury, who lost at home to Colchester United at Gigg Lane, despite taking the lead through Fagan in the 26th minute against the Essex side, who were reduced to 10-men in the 4th minute. Two quick goals through Smith (30th min) and Morrision (31st min) sealed a vital win for ColU. Bury 24th, Colchester United 19th.
