Brentford had their automatic promotion hopes dented with a keenly contested against Gillingham at Priestfield. Sancho had put the home side ahead in the 8th minute. That was cancelled out in the 14th minute when Turner levelled. The lead was restored on the strike of half time with a Byfield penalty. Byfield then extended the lead in the 75th minute, but the arrears were reduced in the 78th minute through Tabb to set up an interesting final 12 minutes. The contest also heated up with a mix of 4 yellow cards (Gills 3-1 Bees) and 2 red cards (both to the Gills) in the final 25 minutes! Gillingham 19th, Brentford 2nd.

Colchester United had the opportunity to leap back in to the automatic promotion places, but failed to do so as they drew 0-0 away to Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue. Doncaster Rovers 10th, Colchester United 5th.

Bradford City left it very late to score an important home win (only their 5th of the campaign) over fellow struggler Blackpool at Valley Parade. The only goal of the game came in the final minutes from Brown, who also picked up the only booking too! Bradford City 13th, Blackpool 18th.

Hardly a round of matches pass without there being at least one 6-pointer at the moment. Tuesday was no exception as Walsall hosted Yeovil Town at Bescot. Harrold (23) and Davies (32) secured a vital away win for the Somerset side. Walsall saw their discipline slip as 3 players were booked and another shown a straight red card late on in the game. Walsall 21st, Yeovil Town 17th.
