Doncaster Rovers and Bradford City got League One's Easter programme under way on Thursday as they battled out a 1-1 at Belle Vue. Both goals came in the first half, with City scoring both goals! The first was one of their own as Bridge-Wilkinson put the visitors ahead on 10 minutes. But 12 minutes later Bower scored an own goal. With no more goals, the points were shared in this latest chapter of the Yorkshire local derbies. Doncaster Rovers 10th, Bradford City 11th.

Friday 25th March
Leaders Luton Town were 'goosed' by the Easter Bunny, in the guise of Barnsley, coming unstuck in a 1-3 reverse at Kenilworth Road. Goals from Shuker (33), Davies (37 og), and Chopra (42) basically sunk the home side in 9 first half minutes. Showunmi scored a consolation in the 67th minute, but it wasn't enough. Luton Town 2nd, Barnsley 12th.

Hartlepool United didn't help their play-off chances too much, allowing Huddersfield Town to win 1-0! The winner came 3 minutes before the break as Booth netted on 42 minutes. United still had 22 second hand minutes to re dress the balance as Clarke was sent off for Town on 68 - but it wasn't to be. Hartlepool United 5th, Huddersfield Town 14th.

Franchise FC are in real danger of staying up. They held on to a point at home to Swindon Town. Small fired the home side ahead on 14 minutes, but were pegged back by Smith for Swindon in the 43rd minute. Franchise FC 20th, Swindon Town 8th.

Peterborough United look as if they are as good as down with Stockport County as they suffered a 0-3 home defeat at the hands of Colchester United. Goodfellow struck just before the break to give the Essex side a first half lead. This was followed up by Danns (70) and a Keith penalty (83) to seal the points. Eight matches left for Posh, and 12 points off safety. Peterborough United 23rd, Colchester United 16th.

Saturday 26th March
Hull City
were made to work for a share of the points against Port Vale, but were rewarded with top-spot as a result. Matthews put the visitors ahead on 13 minutes, but this was cancelled out by Cort on 33. Delaney almost handed Vale the points with an own goal on 67, but Fagan rescued a point with a dramatic 90th minute penalty! Hull City 1st, Port Vale 17th.

Like Hull City, Chesterfield left it late to make sure of a point against Tranmere Rovers. Blatherwick put Chesterfield ahead on the stroke of half time. Jackson levelled on 72, and then Dadi put the visitors ahead with 4 minutes left. Logan rescued a point with a 90th minute equaliser! Chesterfield 13th, Tranmere Rovers 3rd.

Sheffield Wednesday were almost embarrassed at home against Torquay United, but also rescued a point. The Gulls managed to gain a 2-goal lead through Akinfenwa (25) and Woods (49), before Wednesday fired back through Bullen (54) and Barrett (60). The home side had the chances to snatch all 3-points, but the Devon side held on for a valuable point. Sheffield Wednesday 4th, Torquay United 21st.

Walsall are probably look over their shoulders at the prospect of a second successive relegation as they slipped to their 4th straight defeat. This time at the hands of Oldham Athletic. The single goal victory came through Beckett on 72 minutes. Walsall 18th, Oldham Athletic 19th.

Those without a game due to international call ups over the weekend were AFC Bournemouth, Brentford, Bristol City, Blackpool, Wrexham and Stockport County.
